Led by prolific songwriter Henri Pierre Leborde, A Choired Taste delights, entertains, and informs, embracing multiple genres of music including rock n’ roll, blues, country, folk, blue grass, reggae, and Latin jazz. They appeal to diverse audiences young and old, traditional and modern, straight and gay, black and white, short and tall, mothers and fathers, lions, tigers, and even bears. Oh, my!

"… The band's classic rock sound extends beyond the confines of any one genre… clearly it works for A Choired Taste." – Robert Kinsler, OC Register, 3/24/06

"..you guys were great, and we had a big crowd. Way to go!!!!!!!!!!" – Pat Rogers, Bella Terra Events Manager (6/27/2009)

A Choired Taste has performed at the Hard Rock Café, Galaxy Theatre, The Coach House, The Wine Tailor, and Bella Terra, Carnegie Hall, and Carnegie Deli. Not really the last two. Members have also performed at The Whisky, and the Troubadour in Southern California. Other events include: benefit performances for Alzheimer’s and AIDS, the Playboy Jazz Festival, and the Monterey Blues Festival.

A Choired Taste members have performed with many of the "who’s who" in music, including the Righteous Brothers, Temptations, Carole King, Smokey Robinson, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Frankie Valli, Sam and Dave, the Supremes, Coasters, Manhattan Transfer, Paul Williams, Buddy Rich, The Platters, The Drifters & The King Pins.

French-Algerian, Hawthorne-California-raised, Henri "HP" Laborde is steeped in the finger-picking guitar traditions of Lindsay Buckingham, James Taylor, Stephen Stills, and Doc Watson. His songwriting is informed by the likes of Sting, Van Morrison, Fleetwood Mac, and The Eagles, and his vocal style, with its layered harmonies and chord-based lyricism, brings to mind the classic music of the Beach Boys, The Beatles, and Queen.
